Who will St James Senior Boys suit?

Open minded youngsters with a willingness to look after others. Willingness to gain the sense of unity of the human family is important. All religions are regarded as true and are given full respect in school assemblies. Sports, arts and drama provision are available daily and innovative clubs encourage the development of public speaking, debating, philosophical enquiry and leadership.  Character development is core to the school’s message. A series of expeditions and school trips across Europe, including a special leadership programme for 14 year olds, features strongly.  Swimming in the school lake to prepare for major challenges is just one example of programmes to show the importance of placing strength of mind over matter.

Most go onto top universities, with an unusual number of applicants into medical schools or other colleges where human development is at the core of the study programme.

Settling-In at St James Senior Boys

The boarding community on site is less than 10% of the 360 pupils and “homestay accommodation”, where overseas pupils live with local London families organised by the school, is an attractive alternative for those who wish to live out of the school. St James’ Learning Support Department creates innovative programmes, including providing assistance with English language.
