Scholarships at University of Leicester

To honour Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock PhD as the University of Leicester's Chancellor, we are pleased to offer our Chancellor's International Scholarship to all international-fee-paying students who meet our entry requirements for a postgraduate taught degree. Dame Maggie was born in London to Nigerian parents and is an award-winning space scientist, broadcaster and author.

This scholarship, worth £3,000 per year, reflects the University’s commitment to attracting talented students from around the world. 

This scholarship applies to students starting their course in September 2025, January 2026 or April 2026.

Eligibility

This scholarship rewards academic achievement; if you successfully achieve the entry requirements for your applied course, you will be awarded £3,000 discount from the standard tuition fee.

Terms and conditions

• You must be classified as an international student for fee purposes.

• You must be starting a full-time, campus-based Master's course or PGCE commencing in September 2025, January 2026 or April 2026.

• The fee discount will be calculated on the basis of the standard tuition fee.

• The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of one year and will not apply for periods of industrial placement, resit years or if you suspend your studies for any reason.

• In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one University of Leicester scholarship. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award.
