Founded in 1976, St. George's University (SGU) is a centre for academic excellence worldwide. With students and faculty drawn from more than 150 countries, SGU is truly an international institution with a uniquely global perspective. The SGU School of Medicine is accredited by the Grenada Medical and Dental Council, which has been recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). The school offers a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree program. Students can also enter the MD degree program from any education system worldwide via the five- or six-year MD tracks. SGU has a large network of 75+ affiliated hospitals and health centres in the US and UK, with a unique opportunity for students to begin their medical career in Grenada or the UK.
Northumbria University, Newcastle
Thanks to the St. George’s University (SGU) of Grenada School of Medicine/Northumbria University (NU) international partnership, you can earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and complete up to three years in Newcastle, UK. The partnership has welcomed more than 2,500 medical students to Newcastle since commencing in 2007.
SGU/NU offers a Four-Year MD Program and Five- and Six-Year MD Tracks. The MD program and tracks allow you to begin the first part of your education at NU with an MD degree awarded by SGU. You will then complete one year of Principles of Clinical Medicine at SGU in Grenada, Caribbean, leading to clinical rotations in the US or UK.
Thanks to a partnership between SGU School of Medicine and Northumbria University (NU) in Newcastle, United Kingdom, SGU allows international students to earn an MD and complete up to 50 percent of their degrees in the UK.
