Chancellor's Masters Scholarships are available for First Class graduates from institutions in the UK or Ireland. There are only 100 scholarships available, so there is a competitive application process.
What you get
£3,000 for applicants assessed as 'Home' for fees or £5,000 for applicants assessed as 'Overseas' for fees.
Type of award
Tuition fee reduction.
Who is eligible
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
have studied a Bachelors (Hons) at a UK or Irish university and hold, or expect to achieve, a First Class Honours degree.
have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible full time or part time Masters course to start in September 2025.
Who isn’t eligible
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex.
are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex.
are a 2025 Sussex graduate.
studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme.
are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:
Excluded courses
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:
Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE).
Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
Courses at IDS.
Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status).
Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary).
Online courses.
School direct teaching courses.
Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding).
