Sussex offers a £3,000 fee waiver for previous Sussex students choosing to return to study a Masters degree. There are unlimited awards available and, regardless of how long ago you studied at Sussex, any graduate of the University – who graduated with either a Bachelors, Masters or PhD – is eligible.

Who is eligible
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
Have graduated from Sussex with a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree.
Have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible full time Masters course to start in September 2025.
Who isn’t eligible
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex.
Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex.
Studied at one of our partner institutions (i.e. BIMM or International Study Centre).
Studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme.
Already hold another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e. Chancellor's Masters Scholarship).
Are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below.
Excluded courses
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:
Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE).
Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
Courses at IDS.
Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status).
Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary).
Online courses.
Schools direct teaching courses.
Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding).
