Teesside University offers a range of scholarships to support eligible students coming to study at the University from China.
The China Merit Scholarship value is £3,000 in your first full academic year of study (all successful applicants on a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme). Applicants on a foundation/pathway programme delivered at Teesside University International Study Centre are not eligible for the scholarship, but will be considered for the scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.
The scholarship is allocated as a fee waiver.
If you meet the criteria below, you will automatically be considered (but not guaranteed) the scholarship. You do not need to apply separately or contact the University to be considered for the scholarship, but will be assessed using details on your course application by the Department of International Development. If you are successful, you will be notified by the University after the deadline for all applications has passed. All eligible international applicants will be assessed by the International Scholarships Committee.
Student must show evidence of achieving either:
IELTS 5.5 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus average of 80% in your highest academic qualification from China.
or IELTS 5.5 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus either Graded Units at A and B in the SQA Advanced Diploma programmes.
or IELTS 6.0 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus Graded Units at B and B in the SQA Advanced Diploma programmes.
On a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme, applying to study at Teesside for the first time. Excludes students on pathway/foundation programmes at Teesside University International Study Centre, however you may be considered for this scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University
A full-time sponsored or self-funding student, paying international fees starting your course in January 2025.
Student must be domiciled in China and have a nationality classified as Chinese.
Student must pay their deposit and accept their offer before the scholarship can be added to their account.
There are a limited number of scholarships available.
Must be an international fee payer at Teesside University studying on-campus in Middlesbrough or Darlington (Teesside University Online and Teesside University courses outside the UK are therefore excluded from this scholarship.)
