Overview
WMG – formerly known as Warwick Manufacturing Group - was founded in 1980 at the University Of Warwick in order to revive UK manufacturing through the use of revolutionary research and effective knowledge transfer. WMG provides a range of education and research opportunities through its partnerships in areas such as hybrid automotive technology, robotics, visualisation, product perception, e-security, materials, product life-cycle management and business process design. Research projects are dedicated to finding solutions to real world problems; and students benefit from first-hand understanding of the issues facing modern industry.
WMG offers highly rated outstanding teaching and all courses are approved by the Institute of Engineering and Technology. Undergraduate degrees enable students to benefit from a range of expertise and facilities, while postgraduate programmes attract high calibre students who want to make an impact whether in business, engineering, technology, management or as an entrepreneur. Almost 90% of all Warwick Masters students go straight into employment.
Though traditionally focused on providing support for manufacturing industries, WMG now has partnerships across a wide range of business sectors including healthcare, construction, pharmaceuticals, media and defence systems.
WMG has excellent workshops including their unmatched Engineering Hall and high-tech International Digital Lab which has some of the most sophisticated digital research and education programmes in the world. The University of Warwick library holds over a million printed titles and 16,000 electronic journals and offers excellent resources to students.
