Scholarships Awarded to SI-UK Students

We are pleased to announce that both Global Esquire Canada (GEC) and the University of Birmingham have announced the recipients of their respective scholarships for SI-UK students. 

Global Esquire Canada

Global Esquire Canada is a mission-focused social enterprise. GEC aims to promote and be a resource center for study abroad opportunities, specifically for students who wish to study Law and Law-related degrees in the UK.

Through its Non-for-Profit mentorship scholarship program, Global Esquire Canada Mentorship Program (GECMP), will make a much-needed counselling and mentoring contribution to aspiring legal professionals in the BIPOC community.

The organization was created by Sara Bond, LLB, LLM, TEP, a member of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) community.

Each year GEC offers a mentorship program providing up to 25 aspiring BIPOC professionals from SI-UK with mentoring and counselling on legal and Law-related careers. Additionally, Two students (as of 2023) receive a $2,500 scholarship to fund their studies at Law School in the UK and access to key professional networks through an extensive Mentorship program.

Congratulations from SI-UK to Lida Shulman and Sharanpreet Sandhu recipients of the $2,500 scholarship award. We would also like to say well done to SI-UK Law applicant Denziel Henry who has been named as the winner of the 2023 Pearson Internship.

Birmingham International Scholarship Award

The University of Birmingham has confirmed that both Alexa Maria Zorbas and Connor Vivian have been awarded a Canada Outstanding Achievement Scholarship from the University of Birmingham for their degrees in MPharm and Psychology respectively.

The sponsorship covers each student's first year of study, beginning in 2023. This sponsorship consists of a £4,000 one-time payment and will be set against the tuition fees for the first year of the degree program. 

Students interested in learning more about opportunities to study in the UK, and scholarships exclusively available to those who apply through SI-UK, should speak to their Consultant or register with us to be assigned a dedicated SI-UK Consultant.
